DATA COLLECTION
JaRco has extensive experience designing and implementing high-quality data collection across Africa, including in complex, remote, and information-constrained environments. We employ both quantitative and qualitative methods to generate reliable evidence for development and humanitarian programs, policies, and interventions, with particular attention to vulnerable and underserved populations.
Our approach combines methodological rigor, contextual understanding, and robust quality assurance systems to ensure that data are accurate, relevant, and actionable. By translating field evidence into practical insights, we enable our clients and partners to make informed decisions, strengthen programming, and achieve meaningful and sustainable results.
LARGE-SCALE QUANTITATIVE SURVEYS
CLarge-scale socio-economic data collection for sector-specific and integrated projects is a core area of JaRco’s expertise. We have the capacity to design and implement simultaneous large-scale surveys across all regions of Ethiopia, as well as internationally.
Supported by strong programmatic, technical, and operational systems, JaRco can rapidly deploy and manage multiple teams of supervisors and enumerators while maintaining rigorous standards for data quality, consistency, and field oversight.
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH METHODS
JaRco offers a comprehensive range of qualitative research services supported by extensive in-house technical expertise and a strong network of national and international specialists. Our teams apply rigorous, evidence-based qualitative methods, including key informant interviews (KIIs), in-depth interviews (IDIs), focus group discussions (FGDs), case studies, and participatory research approaches.
By combining methodological rigor with a deep understanding of local contexts, JaRco generates nuanced insights that complement quantitative evidence and support informed decision-making. Our extensive network of expert consultants further enables us to mobilize specialized expertise while maintaining high international standards across our deliverables.
REMOTE DATA COLLECTION
JaRco expanded its remote data collection capabilities in response to the operational challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, remote and phone-based data collection has become an established part of our research capabilities. We design and implement telephone and other remote data collection approaches that enable timely, cost-effective, and geographically dispersed data collection when face-to-face research is impractical or unnecessary.
Our approach incorporates appropriate respondent-engagement protocols, quality assurance procedures, data protection measures, and remote supervision systems to ensure reliable and actionable evidence for our clients and partners.
