Oromia National Regional State Forested Landscape Program (OFLP): Consultancy Services to Conduct Livestock GHG Inventory to Fill Data Gaps as per the Data Improvement Plan in Oromia

The Initiative for Sustainable Forest Landscapes (ISFL) promotes reducing GHG emissions from the land sector by establishing a jurisdictional results-based payment scheme to pay for emissions reductions to incentivize and sustain program activities that improve low emission land-use at a landscape level. While attempting to implement this program in Oromia region, ISFL faced challenges of missing or poor-quality data. This was compiled in an inventory improvement plan which proposed to improve the quality of data for key variables affecting uncertainty of the inventory and for variables estimated using survey tools. JaRco was contracted to conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis in order to implement the activities in the improvement plan.
