JaRco was a long-term partner of UNICEF and the Ministry of Health (MoH) in the monitoring and implementation of strategies to improve the management of severe acute malnutrition in Ethiopia. JaRco recruited, trained and deployed a total of 14 Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) monitors to provide technical support at the regional and zonal level health facilities, mentor and train health extension workers, improve utilization of CMAM data at health offices, monitor trends, performance and trigger response needs, and compile and report CMAM monitoring findings. During the project, JaRco’s public health specialists also provided management and quality assurance support to the Regional Health Bureaus and Monitors.
