CLIMATE CHANGE AND NATURAL RESOURCES
Generating evidence to strengthen climate resilience and support sustainable natural resource management.
JaRco provides research, assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and technical assistance to help governments and development partners understand and respond to the impacts of climate change on communities, livelihoods, agricultural systems, and natural resources.
Our experience includes developing community-centered early warning systems, drought risk and vulnerability assessments, and livelihood-based risk mapping to support climate adaptation, preparedness, and resilience. We also conduct studies on the environmental impacts of agricultural and livestock production systems, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions assessments from cattle and livestock farming systems, contributing evidence to climate-smart and low-emission agricultural development.
Our environmental and natural resource assessments address issues including land degradation, deforestation, soil erosion and depletion, water resource management, ecosystem degradation, and biodiversity conservation.
By combining field research, community perspectives, and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, JaRco provides practical and actionable evidence to support climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and more resilient development programming.
