JaRco has extensive experience conducting research, monitoring, evaluation, and data collection with migrants, returnees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, and host communities across emergency and development contexts in Africa. Our work helps partners understand the drivers and impacts of migration and displacement, identify vulnerabilities and service gaps, and assess the effectiveness of programs supporting affected populations.

We have conducted studies and assessments related to irregular migration, forced displacement, return and reintegration, protection, livelihoods, access to basic services, and durable solutions. Our teams use quantitative and qualitative methods to capture the experiences and perspectives of mobile and displaced populations, including those living in remote and challenging environments.

Recognizing the sensitivities involved in working with displaced and vulnerable populations, JaRco applies ethical, inclusive, and conflict-sensitive approaches, with strong attention to safeguarding, confidentiality, and respondent protection.

Through rigorous research and context-sensitive analysis, we provide credible and actionable evidence that helps humanitarian and development partners design, adapt, and evaluate more responsive and effective migration and displacement programs.
