MARKETS, SUPPLY CHAINS, AND DEVELOPMENT

Generating evidence to strengthen markets, inclusive growth, and resilient supply chains.

JaRco conducts research, assessments, monitoring, and evaluations to support inclusive and sustainable economic development in Ethiopia and across Africa. We help governments, development partners, and private-sector actors better understand how markets function, identify constraints and opportunities, and design interventions that strengthen livelihoods and economic participation.

Our experience includes market and value chain assessments, supply chain studies, employment and job creation programs, microfinance and financial inclusion, agricultural investment, enterprise development, and market systems development. We examine the relationships among producers, businesses, service providers, consumers, and institutions to understand the factors affecting market access, competitiveness, and economic opportunity.

Our work also explores how women, youth, smallholder farmers, and micro and small enterprises participate in and benefit from markets and value chains, helping partners identify opportunities for more inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Through rigorous quantitative and qualitative research and market analysis, JaRco provides practical and actionable evidence to strengthen market systems, improve supply chain performance, expand economic opportunities, and inform effective development investments.
