JaRco conducts research, assessments, monitoring, and evaluations to help governments and development partners understand the drivers of poverty and design interventions that strengthen livelihoods, resilience, and economic inclusion.

Our approach is informed by sustainable livelihoods frameworks that recognize the capabilities, assets, opportunities, and strategies households and communities use to improve their well-being. We examine the interconnected factors affecting livelihoods, including income and employment, productive assets, access to markets and financial services, food security, vulnerability to shocks, and access to essential services.

Our research supports programs focused on poverty reduction, job creation, income generation, livelihood diversification, social and economic inclusion, and household resilience, with particular attention to women, youth, and other economically vulnerable populations. We also examine opportunities to integrate green growth and environmentally sustainable livelihood pathways into development interventions.

Through rigorous quantitative and qualitative research, JaRco provides practical and actionable evidence that helps partners identify effective pathways out of poverty, strengthen household and community resilience, and promote more inclusive and sustainable livelihoods.
